studs, studs, & more studs.

I've been a really bad blogger lately. And I'm going to blame it on the fact that I've been crazy busy lately. Yes, a likely story, but true. I spent the entire long weekend out and about—I didn't even turn on my computer on Saturday or Sunday! Consequently, I now have a backlog of photos to post. I guess that's good because according to the weather forecast, it's going to rain for a week straight. Joy.
And yes, I am blogging at 2:30 in the morning. Tomorrow is my sleep in day, and although I contemplated going to sleep earlier & getting up earlier, I knew that wouldn't happen. I don't have an alarm clock that runs around the room for nothin'.

Warning: hipsterness ahead.
I'm wearing:
T-shirt: gift
Plaid shirt: BDG / Urban Outfitters
Shorts: thrifted & DIY'd by me
Shoes: Miss Me via Spotted Moth
Necklace: Crumpetcake on Etsy
Cuff: Annie Creamcheese
Tote bag: We Are Scientists concert

Let's ignore my thighs for a second, shall we? Even though I don't always like how certain things look in photos (I'm looking at you, thighs), I do get a sense of accomplishment in taking my own photos, even if that means sneaking around with a tripod. Business as usual.

You'd think I'd been listening to a lot of grunge music lately with all the plaid & studs, but I've actually been listening to a lot of metal lately. Weird. Metal + studs = badassery, in case you didn't know.

These are the shorts I made out of a thrifted pair of jeans and consequently studded. But no matter how hard I hit the studs with the mallet to punch them in, they keep falling out. It's extremely frustrating. Maybe it's the fabric? I don't know.

Fashion's Night Out is this Thursday in Georgetown and as much as I reaaaaally want to go, I think I'm going to have to pass in favor of saving money and getting work done. I'm determined to graduate with a respectable GPA (preferably in the summa cum laude region), and I'd like to not be broke by the time that happens. My thesis project is fully underway, and on top of classes and the ridiculous amounts of meetings I have to attend this semester, I'm afraid I won't have as much time for blogging and blogging related events. But I will continue to blog! And go to meetups, my crazy schedule permitting. I'm bummed I can't go to the IFB Conference tomorrow/today though :(

Anyways, how was everyone's long weekend? Do anything fun? I did, photos to come soon!
