Back to outfit posts! This week is going to be so crazy but I'm hoping to get some posts in. This weekend is my cousin's wedding which I'm not only a bridesmaid in but I designed all the paper goods (invites, save the dates, menus, etc)! I'm excited to see how everything turns out. But it's going to be a long weekend.
Anyways, outfit post!
Photos by Hannah.
I'm wearing:
Dress (worn as skirt): swapped
Shirt: Old Navy
Belt: eBay
Necklace: LouLou
Earrings: Eastern Market vendor
I got this dress through the ModCloth swap group on Facebook—I'd been looking for a high-low galaxy dress for a while & when I found this I thought why not! But it's pretty low cut and most of the back is see-through—so, t-shirt!
These were taken by
Hannah last time we were in Georgetown, when we went to
Paper Source's DIY Wedding Workshop, which was great. And then of course coffee & cupcakes at Baked & Wired had to happen. We can't help ourselves when it comes to that place.
Also, one very interesting thing I found on the internets today:
this article on Offbeat Bride (inspired by
this article) about how DIY can sometimes morph into "Duplicating It Yourself" instead of "Doing It Yourself"—as a designer this really concerns me, especially because I know how common it is. Definitely worth a read.
