a festive cocktail party.

This is extremely overdue, as I meant to post this outfit before Christmas (and New Years) passed, but it fell by the wayside. However, I didn't want to exclude it completely because this is the first time I've worn this gorgeous dress, and I really love this outfit.

A week or so before Christmas my boyfriend & I went to our friend Mark's Classy Christmas Cocktail Party (I'm not making that name up—it was on the invite!), which we were excited for because we went to the same party the year before and it was a blast. The dress code was formal, so my boyfriend suited up and I wore a gorgeous vintage dress that I had been saving for a fancy & festive occasion.

You may recognize this dress as the one I tried on & purchased at the Quarter Life Shop & Social back in March. I'd been dying to wear it but hadn't found the right occasion—and since my friend Mark loves vintage, I knew he would also appreciate it (I gave him a vintage tie from Quarter Life and he was over the moon about it!). (Also, note to self: wear a slip with this dress in the future.)

I threw in the red coat for an extra dose of festive-ness and vintage; it just so happened that I had purchased the pinecone earrings earlier in the day, so it was a perfect fit! And of course, the cocktail party was lovely.
