summer chevrons.

Sorry for all the quiet on here lately! This past week has been crazy (yeah, yeah, I know — the past 6 months should just be labeled "constantly crazy weeks"), but for different reasons than usual.

I've been going back and forth between home (Maryland) and school (northern Virginia) all week, in the process of moving out of my dorm (for the last time ever!) and spending time with friends who I will be graduating with on Sunday. So Thursday night was spent attending a fancy "welcome to the alumni association party" with friends (followed by cookie dough & a movie, much more our style), and yesterday was moving everything out of my dorm with just two people (myself included)—and that felt like forever, because I somehow managed to amass quite a lot of stuff (shocker). And then the usually hour and 15 minute drive home took three hours (damn Friday rush hour traffic!). So I'm exhausted, and this morning I am driving back to school for more shenanigans. But I'm excited for the event this evening—the Awards Ceremony! I will be receiving some special graduation regalia from the Honors Program (let's call it thesis compensation, haha), and possibly another award! But I don't want to jinx myself.

Anyways! Here is what I wore last weekend when my boyfriend and I went to DC101's Chili Cook Off (basically a music festival under the guise of chili, for those unfamiliar).
Photos by my boyfriend.

I'm wearing:
Shirt: Old Navy
Dress: Target
Shoes: Converse
Bag: Cath Kidston, gift
Necklace: Urban Outfitters
Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters

This dress is basically the perfect summer dress: just trendy enough (chevrons & fishtail hem), comfortable (jersey-like cotton, and cut well), and cute (am I biased in that?). And it was only $25 at Target. Well done, Target, well done. Although we didn't stay at the cook-off very long, I'm glad I got to wear this outfit out, and it was a good choice for the day.

Sidenote: I managed to fit my rolled up shirt into my bag later in the day. I love secretly big bags that look small.

Have a great Saturday!
