fifties inspired.

First things first: I felt like a 50s school teacher in this outfit, and in a good way (does that make sense?). It felt cute & fun. And I actually got decent photos of it! Two accomplishments in one post.

I'm wearing:
Cardigan: Lands End
Blouse: Ann Taylor
Skirt: ModCloth
Tights: DKNY
Loafers: Urban Outfitters
Necklace: made by me
Rings: gift, vendor at a festival

I honestly didn't even originally plan for this outfit to be so vintage inspired but this morning I decided that a classic ponytail (my hair is long enough to do that now!) and some toned down red lipstick (it's really lipliner if we're going to get technical about things) would go well with the whole thing. I'm quite pleased with it; I only wish I were taller so this skirt didn't hit me awkwardly at the waist as it tends to do. How would you wear/style this skirt?

Now, a few local centric event announcements:
• Goodwill's Edited Pop Up Shop is back! Open in Chinatown at the Pepco Edison Gallery from 11am-6pm tomorrow & 11am-5pm on Friday! Go check it out; details here.
The Shoe Hive is having a pop up shop in DC tomorrow evening from 7-9pm - more details here! I'm going to try to make it!
• Friday night is Eighties Mayhem - Holiday edition! I am so excited I can't even tell you. Eighties music and hanging out with some of my favorite people! And actually going out on a Friday (hah)! Details here; get your tickets now, this sells out!
