pink hued chevrons.

Happy almost Friday! It's going to be a very busy weekend for me, and we won't have internet at the apartment until Tuesday (we're still gradually moving in & not fully living there yet), so tomorrow's photo post may be the last for a couple days (although that's become the norm for me).

Here's the last outfit from the beach, from when we went to the dunes in the Outer Banks. It was really hot (and I got sunburned), but it's gorgeous there!

Photos by my boyfriend.
I'm wearing:
Hat: Uniqlo
Necklace: made by me
Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters
Dress: Target
Tote bag: the Kills concert

I love, love, love this dress; I can't stop wearing it. Even though it may always not be the most flattering on me (maybe that's just me), how comfortable it is makes up for it—and the fact that it's very versatile.

On the real life front, work has been going really well, but it's always busy, which isn't so bad because I like being busy. But between work and getting the apartment ready, I haven't even had time to go on Pinterest! I'm looking forward to when things are a little calmer.

Have a great end of the week!

beach exploring casual.

I don't know how the past two weeks went by so quickly! I've been so busy with the new job and the apartment and this past weekend I had to do a quick trip to California for my cousin's wedding, so blogging had to take a bit of a backseat. But things are calming down a bit, and I have a bit of a photo backlog. Thus, finally, a post!

This outfit is actually from when I was in the Outer Banks (like I said, photo backlog).
I'm wearing:
Top: American Eagle
T-shirt: H&M
Skirt: American Apparel
Belt: Oasis
Boots: Palladium, gift from years ago
Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters
Bag: the Kills concert
Necklace: vendor at local farmer's market
Rings: vendor at farmer's market, gift, school ring

These are from when my boyfriend and I went to Bodie Lighthouse, which is surrounded by marshes, tall grasses, and really cool looking trees. Also, it was really windy—which explains my hair. But it was a fun trip, especially because at first we took a wrong turn and ended up on Roanoke Island and visited the Lost Colony (it's still lost).

I will be posting apartment pictures when we get more settled, and hopefully posting will return to normal soon!

vintage floral & black.

I can't believe it's Tuesday already, and I've already completed two days at my new job! I still can't believe that I'm no longer a student and now a professional graphic designer. I really like my job, so far there's a steady stream of work which is good for me. So, I thought it was about time for another outfit post. This outfit is from last month, but last month was so crazy that I never had a chance to post it.

Photos by my boyfriend.

I'm wearing:
Dress: vintage via QuarterLife
Shirt: Old Navy
Belt: Oasis
Wedges: Chelsea Crew
Bag: Cath Kidston, gift
Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters

This is the same dress I wore here, and I've been having fun experimenting with how to style it. My favorite thing about the dress is the collar, so I like that this way of styling it really highlights it.

Anyways, time to get ready for work tomorrow! I'm definitely adjusting to working full time again.

Have a great day!

apartment inspiration.

Since my boyfriend & I will be signing a lease on the apartment we found next week, I thought I'd share some of my apartment design inspiration. Lately, I've been obsessed with how I'm going to decorate. I'm so excited about having my own space where I can determine what I want it to look like.
So, here are some images I've been collecting for inspiration.

If you want to see more of my interior inspiration, here's my Pinterest board.

blush & roses.

An outfit post on a Saturday, gasp! I've been meaning to post this outfit because it's one of my favorites. This is what I wore for my graduation, and unfortunately this lovely dress did not get as much exposure as I wanted. Both the sweater and the dress were actually a birthday present from my mom, which was great timing because this dress ended up being perfect for graduation.

Photos by my boyfriend.
Dress: ModCloth, gift
Sweater: Ann Taylor, gift
Shoes: Born Concept, gift
Necklace: gift
Bracelet: Tiffany's, gift
Purse: vintage Coach
Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters

I've just noticed that the majority of this outfit was gifted to me—I will admit, the fact that my birthday was so close to graduation this year was a nice perk! How gorgeous is the print of this dress? I somehow missed it in my usual perusings of the ModCloth site, but my mom somehow found it. The cut is also very flattering, which is nice. The Tiffany's bracelet was a graduation gift from my dad and stepmom—gorgeous, and the perfect size for my tiny wrists. And I could go on and on about these shoes, they're soooo comfortable, a great color, and I love the details.

Also, I'll totally be wearing this outfit to work.

My fellow 2012 graduates, what did you wear for your graduation?

Have a great weekend!

Photo Friday: the Outer Banks

I'm baaaack! Well, I've been back, I just haven't had time to post because things have been rather busy this week. I've been busy unpacking, transferring my files onto my shiny new laptop (a graduation/birthday present), and seeing as many friends as I can before I have to enter the "real world." I start my new full time job next week! It's so weird that I don't have to do homework or worry about my thesis anymore. I'm so excited to start being a graphic designer full time!

Here are some of my favorite photos from the Outer Banks, which was so much fun.

(This one was actually taken on the way back, somewhere in North Carolina.)

Have a great Friday!
