dark roses.

It's finally Friday, yay! And instead of five photo friday, you're getting an outfit post! This is mainly because a) I have a surplus of outfit photos, b) I haven't gotten around to editing other photos lately. So, ta-dah!

These are from last weekend, when my boyfriend and I went to a craft fair (so many good finds!). For some reason my eyes hated me that day, and were puffy and annoying all day. So if it looks like one eye is open more than the other, that's why. Sigh.

Photos by my boyfriend.
Sweater: ASOS
Skirt: Express
Shoes: Converse
Belt: Threadcase
Necklace: Pretty People Vintage (thanks Hannah!)
Rings (l-r): school, gift, Diament Jewelry, gift, festival, Smithsonian gift shop

Yes, the hat again! I wore it two days in a row, I love it so (haha, I rhymed!).
And I finally found a cameo ring I like that fits! I had seen Diament Jewelry before at the Dog Days DC Sale, but hadn't made a purchase. This time, I knew the adorable Libby (the owner & designer) was going to be there so I found her and made a few purchases! Definitely check her out, she has wonderful vintage and vintage inspired pieces!

Random, but it is actually GORGEOUS in DC right now. Low seventies, sunny, a bit of a breeze. I wish I could just sit outside and read all day. Curse you, senior year of college!

Have a great weekend!

eighties mayhem.

Hello lovelies! I'm up late blogging again, surprise surprise. Here's the outfit I wore last Friday, which was particularly 80s influenced because that night my boyfriend and I went out to an eighties themed dance party! I got to see Katie, too! It was so much fun, I can't wait for the next one!
This is also one of my new favorite outfits. I will never ever get sick of this dress!

I'm wearing:
Dress: shop in San Francisco
Jacket: Urban Outfitters
Tights: Gap
Shoes: Spotted Moth
Scarf: Urban Outfitters
Bracelets: made by me, gift, Annie Creamcheese
Necklaces: Urban Outfitters, made by me
Rings: Smithsonian gift shop, gift, school ring, festival, gift
Eyeshadow: Urban Decay

I snagged this hat when we went to Pretty People during our massive shopping trip, and ohmahgawd I love it so much. It's velvet and fits perfectly! I'd been looking for a black bowler hat for a while, and when I found a lovely vintage one at a reasonable price, I couldn't pass it up!

Also, I'm so glad I splurged on this jacket way back when. It's my favorite. I don't care if it's dated, I love me some acid wash.

Oh, and excuse my ugly dorm backdrop. It was raining, making outside outfit photos a bit of a problem. And I got lazy, haha.

contrasts.

Woah, new blogger interface. Not quite sure how I feel about that. Lots of orange. Hrm.
Anyways, oh hai! Outfit post time!

Funny I should mention orange, because its close friend coral is one of my favorites colors to wear. Exhibit A.

I'm wearing:
Jacket: Primark
Dress: Oasis
Belt: Oasis
Necklace: Betsey Johnson via Ebay
Tights: Primark
Shoes: Chelsea Crew
Pin: Vintage

Although I love my wedges, I can't wear them all day when I'm doing a lot of walking, so after my friend and I took these photos I changed into my floral oxfords before my next class. One of the guys in my class told me, "Your shoes remind me of a meadow." And then my professor told me I looked "so hipster." It was pretty hilarious.

Also, sadly, this was the last time I wore these tights. I had two huge runs in them by the end of the day, so it was time to retire them. I wish I had bought two pairs!

Anyways, back to homework (and by homework I mean online window shopping to avoid my homework. Which is obviously very productive.)! Have a great rest of the week!

bold red & brass details.

I'd say Happy Monday but it's been quite a Monday, if you know what I mean. I can't believe it's already the fifth week in the semester. Senior year is already flying by. Consequently, I'm behind on outfit photos again, aaah. Here's the outfit photos from last weekend's massive thrifting adventure.

I'm wearing:
Jacket: Jack by BB Dakota / Fancy French Cologne
Dress: made by me
Belt: Oasis
Tights: Topshop
Necklace: Urban Outfitters

I just realized I forgot to watermark these. I'm so scatterbrained lately; I forgot one of my best friend's birthdays (I'm a terrible friend). Anyways, this was my first fall-ish outfit! The weather has since decided to continue summer for a little longer (the DC metro area weather is kind of bipolar, for those of you not from the area). I lovelovelove this jacket! I've been wanting a bold red jacket for a while, and Fancy French Cologne (which I highly recommend) had this BB Dakota (one of my favorite brands) on sale for $19 (original price $64)! Also, I love these boots. And now Hannah and I are shoe twins! (Lesson learned: read return policies before buying sale items.)

Okay, off to try to put a dent in my huge to do list. (I swear, once I finish my thesis & graduate I will stop whining about school, I promise!)

Have a great week!

thrifting adventures!

Happy Friday! I'm finaaaally getting around to posting about the massive thrifting trip I had with Hannah, Mackenzie, and Katie last Saturday! It was sooo much fun and I scored a few good finds! But the process was so much fun, it was nice to go shopping with a few new friends. We went to a few local thrift shops, the local Goodwill, and the amaaazing Pretty People in Old Town Alexandria (which is definitely my new favorite store).

Here are some photos I took:
At It's All Good in Arlington.
At Finders Keepers in Arlington.
At Pretty People in Old Town Alexandria.
Jewelry in old school type drawers! I died of happiness.
I was drooling over this amazing necklace!
The amazing & super sweet Annie Lee! (Owner of Pretty People)
My trunk by the end of the day!

Here are some photos Katie took:
Me making a silly face.
Walking to my car.
Annie Lee's amaaazing studded boots (studded boots twins!)
Awesome vintage tapestry bags at Pretty People.
O hai, my legs & feet!
Mackenzie, me, and Hannah!
And us again!

I had such a great time! We'll have to do it again sometime :)
My outfit photos to come in a later post!

Have a great weekend!
